HISTORY:At the beginning of the 2006 season we released our new model ski, the DRT01. This has been designed for elite paddlers and has proved to be very successful. From feedback over the season, it has excellent speed in the flat and very competent in the surf, making it a versatile and competitive ski. Throughout the season we have made a deep seat for the DRT01 allowing yet another option with varying preferences eg. Cory Hutchings and Daniel Moodie prefer and paddle the standard DRT01, whereas Glenn Anderson and Emily Willock prefer and paddle the deep seat option.
We are producing a improved version of the Bullet Surf Ski. We have kept the stability and hull shape of the original Bullet and incorporated some of the defining features of the DRT01 to produce a stable and general purpose club ski without compromising speed.
For the younger cadets who are interested in getting into ski paddling we have the Trigger Surf Ski. This was designed around the shape of the original Bullet Surf Ski. From the top it looks like a miniature version of the Bullet, however, if you flip it over, we have made a flat bottom to give it good stability for beginners and younger paddlers. With the incorporation of a full steering system it is a good stepping stone to a senior Surf Ski. This ski has been out and about for a few seasons now with all feedback being positive. This season we have developed an adjustable leg length option mainly for the convenience of the clubs. This allows more people to use the same ski.
The CHD (Cory Hutchings Design) and Bullet Surf Ski's are based around a kevlar and polyester resin reinforcement system, this along with a molded centre rib make the ski extremely strong and resistant to impact damage.
